Willis in Indonesia

The history of Willis in Indonesia dates back to 1970 where Willis Group provided reinsurance broking services from its London headquarters to several Indonesian insurance companies.

In 1994, Willis established a physical presence in Indonesia by entering into a formal working arrangement with local broker PT. Union Raksa Insurance Brokers.

In 1997, Willis became the major partner in a joint venture agreement with PT. Bank Bali Tbk and created a fully capitalized foreign joint venture insurance broking company named PT. Willis Corroon Bancbali.

PT. Willis Corroon Bancbali obtained its foreign joint venture business license to operate as an insurance broker from the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia through their decision letter no. 431/KMK.017/1998 dated 24 September 1998.

In 2002, Willis purchased the PT. Bank Bali Tbk’s shareholding and in 2003, PT. Willis Corroon Bancbali changed the company name to PT. Willis Indonesia.

2009 was a great year for PT. Willis Indonesia as we were voted as the “Best Insurance Broker in Indonesia” by Euromoney magazine in the 2009 Euromoney Insurance Survey.
